Write a looking back poem. There are a few ways to tackle this one, I guess. The narrator could be reflecting on the past or literally looking back (like over his or her shoulder).
Tangled
Every time I look back when I'm
running, my earphone cords get all
screwed-up. I've tried to figure
out why and the only reason I can
think of is that whenever I turn my
head to see a dog running at me
or to curse at the car that sped up
instead of slowing down
or to laugh at the woman walking
her pet pig, I whip around so fast
that the cords fling up like the line
of a fishing rod being cast toward
the shore and the hook getting
tangled in a low-hanging branch.
